The state EV policy aims at making Bihar a leading state for investments in the EV sector and in creating an EV ecosystem. Draft policy targets to replace manual paddled rickshaws with 100 percent electric rickshaws by 2022. It also aims to create employment, increase investment and develop robust charging infrastructure.
Provisions
- EV manufacturing cluster shall be created including common facilities including dedicated R&D centres and vehicle testing tracks
- Target of 100,000 EVs during policy period
- 100% Exemption from road tax and registration fees for EVs
- Incentives of ₹ 10,000 per kwh in 2W, 3W ,4W and E-buses
