Kerala’s EV policy has a strong focus on building a strong manufacturing base with a focus on EV components. The coastal state also plans to create a center of excellence for EV professionals. It has a target of 1,000,000 EVs by 2022, including ferry boats.

Provisions

  • Investment target in component manufacturing, Center of Excellence in EV value chain
  • 3-Wheelers: ₹30,000 or 25% of EV whichever is lower,
  • Exemption on RTO tax and registration fees to enable 1 million EVs on the road by 2022
